Chennai on High Alert: A Street In The City Records An Alarming 42 Cases in A Single Day; Detailed Report!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsAs Chennai is fighting against the deadly coronavirus, a single street in Triplicane has recorded 42 COVID-19 cases in the city today.
As per a New Indian Express report, residents of VR Pillai Street were tested positive after corporation officials discovered two men who tested positive and had distributed tea, coffee and snacks to many of them in the same area.
Both the men are aged to be 35 and 49, they have been the primary source in spreading the virus in that area. The two men, who are related to each other reportedly distributed beverages and food to few people in that area, Express further reported.
Meanwhile, a corporation official said, “We are investigating how the two men contracted the virus. They told us that they have been moving around the city quite a bit."
Further giving information about the others, the official said all of them are currently stable.
Taking a look at Chennai's stats, it had a total of 231 cases in containment zones on Friday, which also including VR Pillai Street. Since April 27, this particular street has been under containment zone.
