The sweet shop announced that coronavirus can be cured within a day by eating their herbal Mysurpa.
The shop further added that people who ate the Herbal Mysurpa gave good feedback. COVID19 patients and those with symptoms were even welcomed to get it free of cost.
The shop went one step ahead and declared that it is ready to share the product formula with Central Government. However, the announcement did not receive good response from governemnt officials as it did from people. The health department has launched an inquiry.
Deputy Director of Health Services G Ramesh Kumar told The New Indian Express that he is aware of the matter, and added that the advertisement could be misleading the public since it claims to be a remedy for COVID19.
He stated, "This is a clear violation of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897. At a time when the state government is sensitizing the public about the measures to contain the virus spread, this advertisement could deceive people."
Ramesh also stated that the food safety department will be inquiring into the matter.
