2nd Death Reported in Tamil Nadu, 51-Year-Old Man Dies In Villupuram
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsHours after Tamil Nadu reported 102 new cases in the state, a 51-year-old man, who had tested positive for coronavirus died at the Government Villupuram Medical College Hospital today.
The Department of Health and Family Welfare, confirmed this statement. As per a Hindu report, the patient was a resident of Villupuram, who had attended the religious Tablighi Jamaat conference in Nizamuddin, Delhi last month.
Soon after being tested positive for COVID-19, he was undergoing treatment at the hospital. On Friday night (April 3), he developed breathlessness that worsened following which he could not respond to treatment and died at 7.44 a.m. on Saturday.
This is the second death in Tamil Nadu, while the first death was, a 54-year-old man, who died at the Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai on March 25.
Yesterday, Tamil Nadu reported 102 confirmed cases which became the third consecutive day with massive rise of confirmed cases and taking the tally to 411 in the state.
Among most of the cities in Tamil Nadu, Chennai tops the list with the highest number of cases as 81 people in the city tested positive, while Dindugal comes second in line with 43 cases and Tirunelveli with 36.
