State Bank of India Robbed, CCTV Damaged and Hard-Disk Ripped Off
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe State of Bank of India located in Tiruppur district near Palladam was robbed, reports Polimer. The incident came to light when the bank employees saw the lockers broken on Monday (February 24). Reportedly crores of money and gold were looted by the robbers.
The report further adds that the robbers had damaged the CCTV kept for the bank's surveillance and also ripped off its hard disk. Meanwhile, SP Disha Mital and Palladam DSP Murugavel visited the bank for further investigation.
It is said that a robbery attempt was made three months ago by breaking the windows of the same bank. Therefore security with armed guards was provided to the bank.
Reportedly the security was withdrawn a few days back. It is suspected that the robbers had clear information about the lack of security at the bank before executing the theft.
