TN: Robots introduced to clean sewers in this city

For the first time in Tamil Nadu, robots have been introduced in Kumbakonam to clean sewers. Kumbakonam has always been an example of being clean for a long time now.

It was in Kumbakonam where disposal of waste after segregation was introduced first. Pioneering in quality waste disposal methods, Kumbakonam has once again exceeded expectations and has come up with an innovative way to clean sewers.

The robot was first introduced in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram after four students developed it with Rs 10 lakh. The technology was brought to Kumbakonam, funded by Indian Oil Corporation. The introduction of these robots will eradicate manual scavenging in //kumbakonam.
