The only remaining constituency in Tamil Nadu faced its Lok Sabha election on Monday and the results was announced on Friday. Kathir Anand has won the election by 9018 votes. The election to be held on April 18 was cancelled due to the money found in godowns owned by Kathir Anand.

DMK leader Durai Murugan's son Kathir Anand from DMK, A C Shanmugam from PNK, an ally of ADMK, contested. ADMK was leading initially but was soon moved to the second place by DMK. 71.51 percent votes were registered.

The EVMs were moved to Ranipet Engineering College. The results were considered crucial as the ruling party ADMK lost all except one to DMK in the elections contested on April 18.

EPS has alleged that DMK's Stalin deceived people like offering candies to children whereas Stalin has accused ADMK and BJP of trying to prevent the victory through false allegations and raids.
