Fear Grips Chennai, after Police Found Four Dead Bodies in Different Parts of the City

In Mambalam, the neighbours alerted the police after a foul smell came from an apartment. The police discovered the decomposed bodies of a mother and son. They were identified as Vikranth, a 45 year-old software company’s employee and his 80-year-old mother Rajeswari. The neighbours had said that the elderly mother was ill and was bedridden.
Similarly a decomposed body of a tuition teacher was found in Mandaveli. His body was found in his apartment as well. The police identified him as Madhavan, aged 45. "He was not married and he lived alone in the house. Madhavan’s body had decomposed and there was an injury mark on the back of his head," police said.
Devraj, aged 65 who resided in Manavala Nagar was found dead in Tiruvallur. Suspicion increased after the deceased’s 33-year-old son Selvakumar was trying to reach his elderly father via phone. Selvakumar reached the apartment and found him dead.
The police are yet to confirm the causes of these deaths. The post-mortem reports are yet to be received.
