On Thursday, DMK veteran M Karunanidhi was reported as ailing and undergoing treatment by Kauvery Hospital. The hospital, following rumours, issued an update on his health and informed that he is being treated for urinary tract infection.
After it was mentioned that there was a slight decline in Karunanidhi's health, many politicians came to visit the DMK leader at his residence in Gopalapuram. Deputy CM O Panneerselvam and Makkal Needhi Maiam Chief Kamal Haasan also paid a visit.
On Friday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his recovery wishes to Karunanidhi and informed that he enquired about his health. Modi wrote, "Spoke to Thiru @mkstalin and Kanimozhi Ji. Enquired about the health of Kalaignar Karunanidhi Ji and offered any assistance required. I pray for his quick recovery and good health. @kalaignar89 (sic)"
