Rajagopal was already married to two other women when the murder happened. Reportedly, Rajagopal surrendered before an apex court on July 9. As per the latest reports, he has passed away after breathing his last.
A few days back, Rajagopal was reported to be in critical condition and given with life support. He was admitted to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest. On July 16, Tuesday, Madras high court allowed Rajagopal to be shifted to a private hospital from government Stanley Hospital.
Rajagopal was immediately admitted to the hospital right after he surrendered on July 9. Before that, he had reportedly submitted a petition seeking more time to surrender which the court dismissed.
After his appeal in Madras high court was upheld and he was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment, Rajagopal was supposed to surrender before the court on July 7. But he moved to the apex court seeking a delay at the beginning of term. However, it was rejected by the court.
The recent news from Puthiya Thalaimurai reveals that the 71-year-old Rajagopal passed away after failing to cope up with the treatment. Further details of P Rajagopal’s death is yet to be revealed.
