The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the order of the Madurai bench of Madras High Court and announced that students who opted to take the Tamil question papers for NEET examination will not be given grace marks of 196 as announced before.
The furore was after incorrect translations from English to Tamil in the question papers were reported. Further, the Supreme Court stated that measures will be taken to ensure that such errors don't happen again.
The CBSE, on its part, said that the Tamil translators recommended by the state government were to be blamed for the errors in Tamil question papers of the medical entrance examination.
