Man Vs Wild: Wildlife Activists Disapprove Filming of Rajinikanth’s TV Shoot
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsEarlier in the day, it came to be known that Superstar Rajinikanth would be filming an episode of Man Vs Wild, a survival television series, for Bear Grylls. However, looks like the plan has hit a bit of a roadblock with wildlife activists being up in arms against filming in an ecologically sensitive area within the Bandipur tiger reserve and forest in Karnataka, reports LiveMint.
Activists say the presence of cast and crew not just endangers the animals but could also start forest fires, which could spread quickly due to the dry conditions.
“They could have filmed in the monsoons as fires can start and spread very quickly during the summer months," Joseph Hoover, a Bengaluru-based wildlife activist was quoted as saying.
A forest official said that though the area where the crew would shoot is green, there still loomed a threat of forest fires. The unnamed official was quoted as saying, “We have deployed only five people from special tiger force and the crew was allowed only six hours of shooting per day.”
