TASMAC to Close Shops After High Court of Madras' Order; Liquor can be bought only online!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe Madras High Court ordered the Tamil Nadu government to close all TASMAC shops and outlets till the COVID-19 lockdown ends.
This breaking order comes at a time when Tamil Nadu has high number of coronavirus cases in the state. But, the sales of liquor can be done through online booking.
The petition in this case will be heard again on May 14, 2020. As per a guidelines from the high court, TASMAC is not an essential service outlet which needs to be open now.
During these two days of sale, most of the customers were not following guidelines of social distancing and few customers were also not wearing mask at the time of purchase.
The TASMAC outlets opened in the state after a gap of 44 dry days due to the lockdown in the country.
