With COVID19 cases surging every day in Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisami  will be holding a cabinet meeting at the Secretariat at 12:00 pm on Monday.

According to media reports, the cabinet will be discussing strategies and preventive measures to contain the spread of the virus. The impact of current lockdown as well as possibilities of relaxing few other commercial activities will be discussed over the meeting.

The possibility of implementing complete lockdown in Chennai and four other zones of Tamil Nadu is also going to be another talking point.

Following the four rigorous lockdowns, India has now started relaxing few restrictions through Unlock1.0. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy will be discussing the situation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This move comes in the midst of another development from Chennai. The Greater Chennai Corporation formed a response team on Sunday in order to enhance micro- level containment across 15 zones. Corporation Commissioner G Prakash, during a meeting at Ripon Buildings told that the job of the team is to conduct fever camps in wards, door- to- door checks and focus on the elderly.

Reportedly, earlier during the day, the Chief Minister called up Sriperumbudur MLA K Palani who recently tested positive for COVID19 and has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.
