Lathi charge and agitation in Vellore district, situation gets tense

Fight erupts between ADMK coalition members and DMK party members in Gudiyatham during the Bye elections. Today, all over Tamil Nadu, Lok Sabha elections and Bye elections are being held.

So far till 3 PM the voter turnout is 55.97% for Bye elections and 52.02% for Lok Sabha elections. Bye election is being held for Vellore’s Gudiyatham. Due to the agitation between the two coalitions, lathi charge was done.

According to Puthiya Thalaimurai, Ambur’s AMMK candidate Balasubramanian’s car windshield was thrashed and due to the eruption caused there, police did lathi charge to disrupt the crowd and the fight. Also, in Vellore’s Gudiyatham, elections were conducted peacefully. But all of a sudden, fight erupted between DMK and ADMK coalition members.

As the fight erupted in a 100-metre distance from the polling booth, police weren’t around. But as soon as the news spread, police came to the spot and intervened and took the situation under control. Yet, the situation is still tense.
