The Lok Sabha elections were held across the country in 7 phases starting April 11. TN voted on April 18th in a single phase. The vote counting is being held today on May 23.

While BJP is leading nationwide, in Tamil Nadu DMK and its alliances are leading. Most importantly, none of the BJP candidates contesting in Tamil Nadu got the initial lead.

In Coimbatore, BJP's Radhakrishnan got 273821 votes against Communist Party who lead with 401083 votes. There seems to be interesting insight with MNM party's votes and the difference of votes between the BJP and the Communist party.

Kamal's MNM's party VP Mahendran has got 103814 votes, the most by the party member in this election. Seeman's Naam Tamilar's Kalyana Sundaram got 43305 votes and NOTA got over 16323 votes. The total number of votes counted till 4.30PM was 878617. Looking at the votes won by MNM, it is very clear the Ulaganayagan' party played a major role in BJP's loss by attracting a lot of voters that lead to the vote split.
