In the Coimbatore South constituency, Kamal Haasan is contesting against BJP and Congress candidates. DMK and AIADMK is not contesting the Coimbatore South constituency. Here the BJP, the Congress and the Naam Tamilar are contesting.
With Kamal Haasan already expected to contest in constituencies like Alandur or Mylapore, contesting in the south of Coimbatore is seen as politically significant.
Vanathi Srinivasan is expected to contest from BJP in Coimbatore south, Kamal is seen as a strong contester.
Other key candidates from MNM include Sripriya from Mylapore, Pazha Karuppiah for TNagar and MNM Vice President R Mahendran from Singanallur.
