"Makkal Needhi Maiam prepared to contest bypolls in all 20 constituencies": Kamal Haasan

Makkal Needhi Maiam leader and actor Kamal Haasan revealed that his party is ready to face by-polls in the state. On his birthday (Wednesday), Haasan spoke at a press conference outside his residence.

Answering a question on whether he expected bye-elections to take place, Haasan said, "There would be a possibility. I cannot say that there definitely would be. If there are (bye-polls), Makkal Needhi Maiam will be prepared for that too."

By-polls can be expected due to the disqualification of 18 MLA's and the deaths of DMK Patriarch M Karunanidhi and AIADMK legislator AK Bose. Haasan added, "We have a long way to go. But we have grown at a faster rate than we had expected."
