To help Tamil Nadu overcome the drinking water crisis, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has accepted the request to release water from Krishna river to Chennai.

According to PTI news agency, Tamil Nadu ministers S P Velumani and D Jayakumar met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Reddy on Friday seeking the release of water from Krishna river through the Telugu Ganga canal.

The ministers had also handed a letter to Jagan Reddy on behalf of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami," the PTI stated.

Following the discussion, Chief Minister Jagan Reddy accepted the request from Tamil Nadu and ordered the state government officials to take necessary actions with immediate effect.

Speaking over the same, Jagan Reddy told Tamil Nadu Ministers that he has come to a state of understanding the situation on humanitarian grounds and happily offered help.

With Jagan Reddy's quick decision and orders Tamil Nadu Ministers expressed gratitude for timely help.
