A passenger bus belonging to IndiGo Airlines caught fire at the Chennai airport yesterday. According to airport officials, the bus caught fire while transporting passengers of a domestic in-bound evening flight.
The bus caught fire as it was nearing the arrival point with 50 passengers on board. Luckily, none of the passengers were injured in the accident. The Fire and Rescue Service personnel immediately arrived at the scene and put out the blaze.
Since the fire was put out immediately, preliminary assessment indicated not "much damage", either to the interior or exterior of the passenger bus, the officials said. The concerned authorities are looking into the incident, as to what caused the fire.
