More rains for TN? IMD issues new bulletin
Home > Tamil Nadu newsLast week Cyclone Gaja hit Tamil Nadu and etched its mark on the state. Not even giving a few days for breathing space, it seems that heavy rains are to hit the state again.
The Indian Meteorological Department forecasted isolated heavy rains in the regions of Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Karaikal, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram. The Met department also warned fishermen to not venture out into the sea.
The IMD stated in a bulletin released on Monday "The low-pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean now lies as a well marked low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal and Equatorial Indian Ocean on 19th November 2018. It is likely to concentrate into a Depression during next 24 hours and move towards Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast around 20th November 2018."
According to reports, the 48-hour weather bulletin of Chennai states that the sky condition will remain cloudy. Rain and thundershower are likely to occur.
