'Govt School Students get Smart Phones' - Details!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsGiven that the academic frontier has changed from physical classrooms to virtual classrooms after the COVID-19 spread, Chennai Municipality has taken a step towards facilitating education for the students who study at government facilities, by offering Android phones.
Redmi Note 5 has been presented to students who have graduated class 9. Around 5,000 students have been benefited so far. Further, the city is also offering the same to students who have graduated class 11.
The COVID-19 graph is yet to flatten, because of which schools are expected to not re-open anytime soon. By providing android phones to these students, they will get the opportunity to call their teachers for clarifying doubts, and some can also study online.
Although teachers raised complaints regarding mobile phones being students’ distraction, the municipality has justified saying that it could be a while before normalcy returns and that government schools might have to begin online classes as well.
