Atrocities of 'Gangs of Kanchipuram'; Report on Deadly Rowdies

The gang war between the supporters (Thanika and Dinesh) of Rowdy Sridhar (late) has been of major concern for Kanchipuram people in recent days. Thanika and Dinesh developed enmity over several issues and involved in strong acts of violence at regular intervals.

Dinesh Gang

On November 17 2019 'Poyakkulam' Thiyagu and Dinesh were arrested by Kanchipuram police. The police also confiscated a Bolero Car, Hand Grenades and sickles. Dinesh was accused of murder, kidnapping and 24 other cases.

Thanika Gang

After Dinesh and Thiyagu were arrested, police were afraid of the freedom of Thanika and his gang as they were involving in several unlawful activities around Tamil Nadu. Thanika's uncle Venkat, Jeeva and many other rowdies belonging to Thankia's gang were in hideout including Thanika himself.

The police formed 6 special squads and arrested Thanika and 56 other rowdies from both the gangs recently. Thanika was accused of murdering 'White' Karthik and throwing his body in Paalaru and also murdering Dinesh's friend Chandrasekar for mocking the late Sridhar on Facebook.

Violence Continues

According to the latest reports, Thanika's 6 supporters went with deadly weapons and stabbed 7 people in Kanchipuram. Further, they had also damaged Thiyagu's house, car, two 2-wheelers and 4 sovereigns of gold.

The incident has caused chaos in Kanchipuram while Kanika and Dinesh are serving imprisonment. Reports say that in addition to arresting the main leads of gangsters, it is crucial to wipe out the entire network since the gangster leads have the ability to operate from inside the prison.
