15 People Killed, Several Trapped After Houses Collapse In TN's Mettupalayam
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsDue to continuous rain in Tamil Nadu, at least fifteen people have been killed and several still trapped after a wall collapsed on three houses in Mettupalayam. This sad incident took place in Nadoor Kannappan Layout.
On an immediate call, rescue personnel had reached the spot and retrieved nine bodies so far. Meanwhile, operations is still on to pull out those trapped inside.
Rains have created havoc in many parts of Tamil Nadu since the past few days with the North-East monsoon in the last 24 hours.
According to The Hindu reports, the meteorological centre in Chennai has predicted more rain in the next 24 hours; they have also issued a red alert for six districts in the state- the names are Thiruvallur, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Thoothukkudi, Ramanathapuram and Tirunelveli.
