Last week, Cyclone Gaja struck Tamil Nadu, wreaking havoc on the state. The destruction faced by the state was massive. Many properties and over 45 lives were lost due to the cyclone.

Usually, in the face of disaster, a sharp rise in fake content arises. Similarly, a video went viral in Tamil Nadu recently in the context of Cyclone Gaja. The video features a huge wave engulfing a bridge. It was claimed that the video was taken during Cyclone Gaja and that the bridge was the Pamban Bridge connecting Rameswaram to Pamban Island.

However, the same video circulated last year as that of the Bandra-Worli sea link in Mumbai during Cyclone Ockhi. According to reports, the video surfaced for the first time in August 2017 on Youtube. The video is actually the footage of the Minicoy Eastern Jetty in Lakshadweep facing the wrath of huge waves.
