The doctors from Saveetha Engineering College were shocked to identify 526 teeth from the  mouth of a 7-Year-old boy. The right cheek of a 7-year-old boy, Ravindranath had reportedly been swollen and indicated the symptoms of decayed tooth to his parents. Later, it was discovered that there were 526 teeths tucked inside his tiny right lower jaw.

According to TOI report, the teeth were the result of abnormal growth which might have had genetic connect. The doctors had to carry out surgery to remove the abnormal teeth leaving the boy with only 21 proper teeth. “Instead of breaking open the bone from the sides, we drilled into it from the top. Luckily, he did not require the reconstruction of the jaw. His healthy teeth were left behind”, the doctors were quoted as saying by TOI.

Though the chances of recurrence were low as per the doctors report, the exact cause of the abnormal growth is still not known. However, the abnormal gowth of the teeths is attributed to the radiation caused by mobile tower. Reportedly, the doctors have conducted a study after screening 250 people who were living close to mobile towers and found vulnerable defects in at least 10% of the people.
