Breaking: DMK MLA J Anbazhagan Passes Away, was getting Treatment for COVID-19

DMK MLA J Anbazhagan passed away at around 8:05am on 10 June 2020. The 62-year- old politician was admitted to Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre at Chromepet on 2nd May and was infected with the novel coronavirus. He was undergoing treatment for curing COVID19. He showed symptoms such as breathlessness. 

As per Puthiya Thalaimurai’s report, a medicine which is being used in US and Italy to cure COVID19 was given to him yesterday. However, he did not show signs of improvement. His Health condition has been deteriorating over the past 24 hours. He developed fever at around 2:00 am today and he was under critical condition. 

"Thiru Anbazhagan J, who has been fighting for his life with severe COVID19 pneumonia rapidly deteriorated early this morning.In spite of full medical support including mechanical ventilation at our COVID facility, he succumbed to his illness," the press note released by Dr. Rela Institute & Medical Centre read.

J Anbazhagan was a three-time MLA who won the 2001, 2011 and 2016 assembly elections. He was an  incumbent Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency in Chennai District.

He was born on 10th June 1958 and he passed away on his 62nd birthday. 

TamilNadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy and M K Stalin, President of DMK conveyed their heartfelt condolences in twitter.
