It was a proud moment for Tamil Nadu after 21-year-old Dharun Ayyasamy bagged a silver medal in the 400m hurdles at the Asian Games on Monday.
Ayyasamy hails from Tirupur, TN. He trailed after Qatar's Abderrahman Samba and finished the race in 48.96 seconds. Japan's Takatoshi Abe bagged bronze. Ayyasamy was trailing after Abe till the last 60m stretch but accelerated at the end.
This was India's fourth medal from the track events at the Asian Games. Ayyasamy beat his own national record of 49.45 seconds when he won the Federation Cup in Patiala.
