Asymptomatic COVID-19 Patients can Stay Home Quarantined says Govt; Issues Separate Guidelines
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsAs COVID-19 cases spike in Tamil Nadu for the second time, the state government has approved and issued a proposal stating that people with symptoms of coronavirus will be admitted to hospitals and that asymptomatic individuals will be isolated at their homes.
The asymptomatic individuals are the ones who will have mild symptoms. So the government has issued a separate guidelines for them.
Meanwhile, a Government Order (GO) said, "It has been decided to accept a proposal of the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine for home isolation of those who test positive and have "very mild" symptoms or are "pre-symptomatic."
"For treatment at home, the person diagnosed for COVID-19 should be "clinically assigned as a very mild case / pre-symptomatic case by the treating medical officer," the GO added.
Also, if an individual is asymptomatic, then such people should have requisite facility for self-isolation and for quarantining family at their residence. Looking at the other guidelines, the concerned person should have availability of a well-ventilated single-room with a separate toilet along with a care giver.
Other aspects which needs to be kept in mind are;
- immediate medical attention must be given if serious signs or symptoms develop like persistent cough
- pain or pressure in the chest
- continuous fever
- difficulty in breathing
- mental confusion
- seizures and decreased urine output.
Highlighting about the stats, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu crossed 500 again, raising the number of infected persons to 4,058 today. Two COVID-19 patients also died also, which has taken the state''s toll to 33.
