COVID-19 IN TN TODAY: POSITIVE CASES, DEATHS, AND RECOVERIES AS ON AUGUST 16!

Tamil Nadu on Sunday, August 16, reported 5,950 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of active cases in the state to 54,019.    
The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of August 16:
- Total number of active cases on date (including isolation) -   54,019. 
- Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date –  2,03,838 / 1,34,188 / 29.  
- Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities –135 (62 Govt + 73 Private)
- Total Number of samples tested by RT-PCR till date  –     37,11,246. 
- Total number of samples tested today –  70,450.    
- Total number of persons tested by RT-PCR till date – 35,81,939. 
- Total number of persons tested today –  68,444. 
- Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 2,72,251. 
- Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 6,019. 
- Total number of deaths today / till date - 125 (39 Private & 86 Govt) / total 5,766
