COVID-19: TN CM Edappadi K Palanisamy Announces Lockdown Extension!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsTamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy on Monday announced an extension of the ongoing lockdown in the state till 30 April so that the gains from the implementation of the measure are not lost after the restrictions are lifted.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had suggested an extension of the lockdown during video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Subsequently, the Chief Minister held a cabinet meeting and it was decided that the state would abide by the Centre’s call on lockdown extension.
Several states including Maharashtra, Punjab, Odisha, West Bengal and others had already extended the lockdown till 30 April.
Tamil Nadu has reported 1075 cases of COVID-19 as of 12 April. A total of 50 patients were discharged following treatment while 11 people have succumbed to the virus.
