COVID-19 Chennai: Area-Wise Breakup of Cases, recoveries, and Containment Zones as of May 7

Under lockdown, with various containment zones, Chennai’s cases continue to increase in number. While Chennai recorded its highest number of cases in 24 hours, yesterday, there have been several recoveries. 320 new cases from across the city have been recorded as of May 07, 8:00am.

Area-wise Breakup of Positive cases:

Thiru-Vika-Nagar – 412

Kodambakkam – 387

Royapuram – 375

Teynampet – 285

Anna Nagar – 191

Tondiarpet – 168 

Valasaravakkam – 176

Ambattur – 105

Adyar – 91

Thiruvottiyur – 40  

Madhavaram – 30

Perungudi – 20

Sholinganallur – 15 

Alandur – 14

Manali – 13

Totally 2328 cases have been reported in Chennai and 1952 people are currently hospitalised for treatment. 22 deceased persons are from Royapuram (8), Thiru-Vika-Nagar (4), Anna Nagar (5), Valasaravakkam (1), Kodambakkam (2), Adyar (1) and Tondiarpet (1).

327 people have recovered in the city.

The recovered numbers with respect to their areas are as follows:

Thiruvottiyur- 9

Manali- 1

Madhavaram- 3

Tondiarpet- 41 (4 recovered yesterday)

Royapuram – 98 (6 recovered yesterday)

Thiru-Vika-Nagar- 51

Anna Nagar- 32 (2 recovered yesterday)

Teynampet- 42 (3 recovered yesterday)

Kodambakkam- 33 (2 recovered yesterday)

Valasaravakkam- 9 (1 recovered yesterday)

Adayar- 10 (2 recovered yesterday)

Alandur- 8

Perungudi- 7

Sholinganallur- 3 (1 recovered yesterday)

Ambattur- 1

230 streets in Chennai are declared as containment zones as of this week.

They are:

அரசியல், விளையாட்டு, நாட்டுநடப்பு, குற்ற சம்பவங்கள், வர்த்தகம், தொழில்நுட்பம், சினிமா, வாழ்க்கை முறை என பலதரப்பட்ட சுவாரஸ்யமான செய்திகளை தமிழில் படிக்க இங்கு கிளிக் செய்யவும்
