COVID-19: 17 New Positive Cases in Tamil Nadu, 121 Results Awaited
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsSeventeen new positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the state, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy told reporters on Monday, 30 March.
The total number of positive cases in the state now stands at 67 including 5 discharged and 1 deceased. Results of 121 persons are awaited. Among the newly infected, 10 are from Erode, 4 from Chennai, 2 from Madurai and 1 belongs to Thiruvarur.
The Chief Minister said orders have been made for 25 lakh N95 masks and 1.5 crore surgical masks. 30,000 testing kits have also been ordered.
Asserting the need for isolation, Edappadi K Palanisamy said stringent efforts are being made by the government to stop Tamil Nadu from entering 3rd stage of COVID-19 spread.
