Complete Lockdown in Tamil Nadu again? Chief Minister Clarifies!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsOver the past few days, there have been speculations and conjectures that stated that few districts of Tamil Nadu might be imposing a complete lockdown for around 15 days. Media reports in particular elucidated that Chennai might be subjected to a strict lockdown.
The Madras High Court also had asked the Tamil Nadu government to clarify on the subject of curfew being implemented in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu. Hence, people of Tamil Nadu have been waiting for the official word on the matter.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy inaugurated the Mettur Dam on Friday. Ministers, District Collectors and Public Works Department officials were also present for the occasion.
Post the inauguration, the Chief Minister addressed the media and clarified that the news about Complete Lockdown is a rumour. He explained that the Tamil Nadu government has not made any announcement regarding a complete lockdown as well as e-pass. He also warned those who are spreading rumours and stated that action would be taken against them.
The High Court too ordered on Friday that the state will not be imposing a complete lockdown.
