A pothole on a road has taken a life in Poonamallee. The woman died while her husband survived and witnessed the accident.

Ramadas, hailing from Thiruvanamalai, is working as a bus conductor. His wife Devi and he were living in Poonamallee. While travelling from Poonamallee, he missed noticing a pothole due to stagnant rain water.

Losing balance, they both fell as a container lorry behind them hit them. The lorry ran over Devi, who died on spot.

Ponamallee police has filed a case and her body was sent for postmortem. Police is in lookout for the driver of the lorry who took off after the accident.

Puthiya Thalaimurai also reports that so far 3 deaths have occured in the road as the condition is worse.
