In a shocking case from Tamil Nadu, a woman professor of a private medical college in Chennai has alleged assault, torture and abuse by the colleagues and college staff.

She opened up on her torture and abuse through a social media post which is currently going viral. In the video, the assistant professor names her attackers and also request help from others.

According to NDTV reports, the professor also alleges that her colleagues and college staff are forcing her to "commit suicide".

On expressing her ordeal, the woman says that she has worked in the Tagore Medical College for past one-and-a-half-year. She is currently living on the campus and alleged that (the culprits) locked her in a room without food and water supplies, NDTV further reported.

"I've faced lots of abuse, torture and physical abuse, mainly verbal abuse," she said in the video. "I am very depressed. They are threatening me. They are forcing me to commit suicide," she further said in a video.

Meanwhile, the management of the college has confirmed that the woman lived on the campus for 18 months but nothing about the case.

When NDTV contacted the Dean of the college, Dr N Gunasekaran, asserted that a committee has been set up to look into the matter and investigations are on.
