Srinivasan, 30, a contract employee of the Corporation on Monday murdered his wife Ammu, 26, at their house in T.P. Chathram and fled after informing the police. The couple lived at New Colony, T.P.Chathram, a few yards away from his parents’ house and has a seven-year-old boy.
Srinivasan was suspicious about his wife's behaviour and harassed her, which lead to them quarrelling frequently. In the morning of the murder, he beat her and cut her head with a knife.
After committing the murder, Srinivasan cleaned the knife and left the body in the house, post which he handed over his son to his parents. Posing as a neighbour, he called the police control room and informed them about his wife's death.
