Chennai City Gets a New COVID-19 Exclusive Hospital – Beds, Oxygen Lines and other Details!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe Tamil Nadu state government on Tuesday, inaugurated another exclusive Covid hospital in Chennai city.
The number of coronavirus cases in the city has been increasing drastically over the past month. However, the cases have seen a mild dip after the imposition of complete lockdown towards the end of June.
The new hospital facility is located at the King Institute. It is the third exclusive COVID facility in the city and was initially built to house the National Institute if Ageing. Now it has been converted into an exclusive corona facility. “The hospital has been designed to be on par with the likes of AIMS and JIPMER,” said CM Edappadi at the inauguration.
The facility is equipped with 100 doctors, 90 nurses and 100 non-medical staff. It also has 300 beds with oxygen lines. The CM added, “The government also ensured that lives of people are not affected. The state was under lockdown for around 105 days. It cannot be extended further because it will have an impact on the economy.”
