Bank Strike: At least 20,000 ATMs In Tamil Nadu Could Go Out of Cash Soon!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsWith a nation wide strike called by bank union officers' around 20, 000 ATM's in Tamil Nadu can run out of cash in this weekend.
As per Times of India (ToI) report, the All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC), with more than 40,000 bank officers will be participating in the strike which is set to be held on September 26 and 27.
The strike is against mergers and amalgamations in banking sector with many more demands which are on hold.
Further talking about the consequences of the strike, R Sekaran from AIBOC stated that with the strike there will be a direct impact on transaction which is worth Rs. 6,000 crore. Also, ATM's might run out of cash as the refilling is mostly done under officers' supervision, ToI further reported.
Banks will remain open during the said date but work will be held as none will work during that time.
With this strike, nearly 2.12 lakh ATMs and transactions worth Rs 48,000 crore will be affected.
