COVID-19 in Chennai, May 05 Data: Area wise Break-up of Containment Zones, Most Affected, Positive, Hospitalised and Recovered!

While some areas in Chennai are adversely affected, some other areas which previously showed no signs of infection have recently been reporting cases.
Royapuram steps down from being the most affected area as Thiru-Vika-Nagar has now reported 357 positive cases, constituting 20% of the total cases reported in Chennai. Following Thiru-Vika-Nagar, is Royapuram where 299 people are infected. 257 people in Kodambakkam, 206 people in Teynampet, 136 people in Tondiarpet, and 144 people in Anna Nagar have tested positive for COVID-19.
114 people from Valasaravakkam and 67 people in Ambattur have tested positive, followed by Adyar, where 44 people have tested positive. Thiruvottiyur has 29 positive cases, Madavaram has recorded 24 cases, 12 cases in Perungudi and 10 cases in Alandur have also been reported. Sholinganallur has recorded 10 cases, and Manali has recorded 10 cases.
266 new cases from across the city have been recorded as of May 05, 8:00am.
Totally 1724 cases have been reported in Chennai and 1437 people are currently hospitalised for treatment. 18 deceased persons are from Royapuram (8), Thiru-Vika-Nagar (3), Anna Nagar (4), Valasaravakkam (1), Kodambakkam (1), and Tondiarpet (1). 264 people have recovered in the city.
The recovered numbers with respect to their areas are as follows:
Thiruvottiyur- 9 (4 recovered yesterday)
Madhavaram- 3
Tondiarpet- 33 (10 recovered yesterday)
Royapuram – 78 (10 recovered yesterday)
Thiru-Vika-Nagar- 40 (6 recovered yesterday)
Anna Nagar- 22 (3 recovered yesterday)
Teynampet- 26 (2 recovered yesterday)
Kodambakkam- 24 (3 recovered yesterday)
Valasaravakkam- 7
Adayar- 7
Alandur- 6
Perungudi- 7
Sholinganallur- 2
Both Ambattur and Manali have not recorded any recoveries.
A list of containment zones in Chennai was released by the Greater Chennai Corporation. The list shows hundreds of containment zones that are present within each zone.
Further, some areas have recently been excluded from the list:
