The popular journalist and educationalist who is also the founder of PSBB Schools, Mrs Rajalakshmi Partasarathy also known as Mrs YGP passed away on Tuesday (August 6) afternoon. The 93-year-old is survived by her son YG Mahendran (Actor), YG Rajendran and their families. She breathed her last at the Apollo hospitals today after she was admitted owing to the discomfort.

Many celebrities have mourned the death of Mrs YGP including legendary Music Composer AR Rahman who is an alumnus of PSBB School. ARR recollected the achievement of Mrs YGP and mourned that we have lost a visionary educator. “#RIPMrsYGP We have lost a visionary educator and our #singapen of #PSBB Chennai.  She changed the lives of thousands of young men and women ...May her rest in peace”. (sic)

Mahendran told the press that Mrs YGP was feeling discomfort out of illness and had to be taken to the hospital last night. She had felt the same condition twice before, so her families were hopeful that she would recover this time also. But unfortunately, she could not make it. According to the reports, the body of Mrs Rajalakshmi Parthasarathy would be kept at Padmasheshadri School / Bharat Kalachar, T Nagar for public homage. Her last rites will be held at Besant Nagar crematorium at 4 PM on August 7 (Wednesday).

Mrs YGP started PSBB School at Lake Area, Nungambakkam in 1958 with just 13 students before flourishing into the education sector with the chain of PSBB Schools followed by PSBB Millennium Schools across the city.
