In a major development in the Jayalalithaa death case, doctors at the Apollo Hospital have said that the former Tamil Nadu chief minister did not die of 'slow poison'. Two senior doctors of the hospital deposed before the one-man commission probing Jayalalithaa's death case.

The doctors' statement refuted allegations of senior AIADMK leader and minster Dindigul C Srinivasan, who earlier claimed that the late CM had been fed slow poison by her long-time close aide VK Sasikala and her nephew TTV Dhinakaran.

In his allegations, Srinivasan had claimed that the duo gave unsuitable food to Jayalalithaa who was diabetic. He claimed that the AIADMK chief was driven to death.
