All District borders to be closed in TN, Section 144 from Tomorrow!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsAll the inter-state borders will be closed and Section 144 will be imposed from 6 PM tomorrow till March 31 in the wake of the Coronavirus scare, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy said on Monday.
Amma Unavagam centres across the state will function for the convenience of outsiders staying in hostels. Only shops selling essential commodities such as medicines, milk, meat, vegetables and other groceries will remain open, said Palanisamy.
Elderly and pregnant women in need of support will be identified and assisted. Public and private buses, autos, trains and taxis will not operate during the lockdown.
The Chief Minister said around 3,000 houses in Chennai are being isolated and monitored. Anyone under quarantine and violating the orders issued by the government will face action.
