50 New COVID19 Positive Cases Recorded In Tamil Nadu, State Health Minister Shares Updates
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsWith the rise in the deadly coronavirus cases across the country, at least 50 people in Tamil Nadu have been tested positive for the virus after returning from a large religious gathering at Delhi's Nizamuddin.
Taking to social media handle, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Dr C Vijayabaskar gave updates on the 50 new cases saying, "50 new #COVID19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu. 45 of them have a travel history to Delhi. All have been admitted in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Chennai and Namakkal hospitals and are also said to be stable. Will update details soon."
Minutes later, Tamil Nadu Health Minister shared a little more update on the 50 new cases stating that, "Out of the 50 new cases,45 Pts have travel history to Delhi. They are admitted in Kanyakumari (5), Tirunelveli (23), Chennai (4) and Namakkal (18) hospitals. Pts are isolated for treatment and are stable."
With this rise in number of COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu, the state toll has jumped to 124- state health secretary Beela Rajesh confirmed the report. As per a India Today report, according to the Tamil Nadu Health Secretary, 1,500 people from Tamil Nadu attended the Tablighi Jamaat meeting in Delhi. Of this, 1,130 returned to the state and the rest stayed back in Delhi.
