22-Year-Old Falls From 75-Feet Waterfall While Taking Selfie In Tiruvannamalai
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsIn a sad and shocking case, a 22-year-old man fell from 75-feet waterfall in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvannamalai district while taking selfie. His friend who was along with him, jumped into the river to save his friend also sustained injuries.
This incident took place at the Beemal waterfall in Jamunamarathur in the district.
According to Times of India report, as soon as the locals informed the police, a team along with fire personnel rescued S Murali, who was seriously injured but he died on his way to the hospital. The search operation lasted for four long hours, in which they also rescued his friend G Manikandan (19).
During interrogation Manikandan told police that, he had gone to visit the waterfall with his cousin R Vijaykumar and Murali.
In the meantime, Murali decided to take a selfie before jumping into the water to take a bath. When he stood on top of the rock, his leg slipped and fell.
Alert Manikandan, who tried to catch him so that he can save him slipped too and fell into the water. Murali, was a mechanic by profession who succumbed to his injuries on his way to the Government Medical College in Vellore.
A case of section 174 under CrPC has been filed in this matter.
