TN: Fee in 14 toll plazas to increase

According to reports, the fee collected in toll plazas along the western and southern districts of Tamil Nadu is to increase. User fee in 14 toll plazas is to rise 10 per cent from September 1.

Reportedly, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has informed that the revised rates will reflect the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) which varies at different tolls. The final user price will be announced by the NHAI in a few days.

The toll gates which will see a hike in fee are - Eliyarpathi, Kodai Road, Mettupatti, Morratandi, Nallur, Ponnamabalapatti, Pudurpandiyapuram, Thirumandurai, Vaiguntham, Valavanthankottai, Veeracholapuram, Vijayamangalam and Vikravandi.
