Champion!! 10-year-old boy from TN swims across Palk Strait

It was a proud moment for the city as well as the state, after a ten-year-old boy from Tamil Nadu's Theni district swam across the Palk Strait.

According to Times of India (ToI), this little champion Jaswant swam from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi covering approximately 32 km in ten hours and 30 minutes.

Giving further confirmation about the record, officials stated that Jaswant started swimming from the Urumalai sea coast at 4: 00 am in the morning and reached the International Maritime Border Line (IMBL) at around 9:00 AM.

Since the start of his record, Jaswant was being monitored by the coast guard officials from the IMBL, they confirmed that he reached Dhanushkodi at around 2: 30 pm in the afternoon. During his journey, the boy survived on health drinks and water while swimming.

Lauding Jaswant over his victory, officials said "for a boy of his age crossing the Palk strait in over 10 hours was a great achievement".
