Biggest Single-day Spike of COVID-19 Positive Cases in Tamil Nadu, Chennai Single-day cases Cross 200-mark; Details Listed

Tamil Nadu on Sunday, 3 May, reported 266 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state 3023. Of the 266 new cases, 203 were from Chennai alone.

A 44-year-old Male admitted to RGGH succumbed to the virus on date. Death toll in the state stands at 30.

The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of 3 May:

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive today – 187/79/0

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date – 2015/1007/1

Total number of passengers under home quarantine – 37,206

Total number of passengers in government quarantine facilities – 40

Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities – 49 (35 government and 14 private)

Total number of samples tested till date – 1,50,107

Total number of samples tested today – 10,617

Total number of persons tested till date – 1,40,716

Total number of persons tested today – 10,584

Total number of suspected individuals in isolation ward admission – 2362

Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 1379

Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 38

Total number of active cases on date - 1611
