In the first match, Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans clashed yesterday (24.05.2022) and Gujarat won. It is important to note that the winning team will qualify directly for the final.

CSK, who won the IPL trophy last season, have been eliminated from the play-off round this time.

Best Captain M.S. Dhoni

With Dhoni announcing that he will be playing for the CSK team next season, fans are definitely looking forward to capturing the CSK trophy next season under his leadership. Meanwhile, many have been commenting on the recent comparison of a young player with Dhoni.

Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket two years ago, is currently playing only in the IPL series. Dhoni, one of the best captains the Indian team has ever seen, captained the Indian team to a number of trophies, including the 20-over World Cup and the 50-over World Cup.

Delhi Captain Rishabh Pant

When Dhoni played for India, he was the wicket-keeper. Many are comparing Rishabh Pant, who is currently the wicket keeper of the Indian team, with Dhoni. Rishabh, who captained the Delhi team in the IPL series, led the team in the best possible way last season.

However, many of the decisions taken by Rishabh, the captain of the Delhi team in the current series, were to the team's disadvantage. That too, especially in the last league match, he did not pick up the DRS, causing a great deal of controversy. Thus Rishabh's decision was criticized by many cricket celebrities.

What did Ganguly say?

In the midst of this, many were questioning how Rishabh could be compared to Dhoni. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has commented on the Dhoni-Rishabh comparison.

Speaking on the occasion, Ganguly said, "Don’t compare Pant with MS Dhoni. Dhoni has so much experience, has captained in 500-plus games in IPL, Tests and ODIs. So it’s not fair for Rishabh to be compared with Dhoni."
