Rohit Sharma gave me sleepless nights during IPL, says Gautam Gambhir

With the IPL starting on March 26, all the teams are aiming to lift the trophy.

Gambhir in the Lucknow team

Despite the IPL mega auction, Gambhir, who represented Lucknow, played a key role in the selection of team players. He has led Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals under his captaincy.

Under his leadership, the Kolkata Knight Riders lifted two IPL triumphs in 2012 and 2014. Thus, as his experience will lend a good hand this time as well and now, fans are looking forward to seeing the Lucknow team play. Now, Gautam Gambhir has revealed that an Indian player who played in IPL matches gave him many sleepless nights.

Gautam Gambhir said, "As captain, Rohit Sharma is the only player who gave me sleepless nights. Neither Chris Gayle nor AB de Villiers nor anyone else, only Rohit Sharma. He is the player who gave me sleepless nights. There is no more successful cricketer in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) than Rohit Sharma as captain.”

Five-time champion

Rohit Sharma has led Mumbai Indians to four IPL triumphs, including a back to back victory in 2019 and 2020. The Mumbai side lead the standings with as many as 5 trophies, one more than defending champions Chennai Super Kings.
