West Indies bowler Charlie Griffith's bouncer hit Nari Contractor on the head during a match in Barbados. Nari was seriously injured due to not wearing a helmet.
Treatment
Following this, Nari was admitted to the emergency department of the hospital. He recovered as a result of subsequent surgery. Doctors fitted a titanium metal plate inside the ex-cricketer's head due to damage to the skull.
The 88-year-old man underwent surgery again. Nari has agreed to undergo surgery after doctors told him to remove the metal plate that had been placed on his head due to his old age.
Operation
Doctors say the operation on the ex-cricketer, who was admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai, has been successfully completed and the titanium plate that had been in his head for about 60 years has now been removed.
“The surgery went off very well. He is stable and recovering well,” Contractor’s son, Hoshedar, said. “It was an hour-long surgery.”
Chandu Borde, a former player of the Indian cricket team and a friend of Nari's, has been inquiring about his health from time to time. Speaking about this, he said, "I wish him a speedy recovery. I hope he lives a long life, ”he said.
